Okay, I've been putting this off for months now but here it is. Here is my short story, this is the first ever short story that I have written. This is the first thing that I have written that I have been brave enough to post to the public. I am putting myself out there because I have to, well I have to eventually and someone once said "there's no time like the present." And yes I know that isn't the entire quote but oh well, here is my short story. I hope you enjoy and please be nice, my feeling are very fragile right now.
Fines Terrae (Ends of Earth)
Jewel sat staring out the window. She never expected the apocalypse to look like this; she expected the burning, collapsed buildings and people running around like chickens with their heads cut off and all the screaming but not aliens.
There was a noise behind her making her flinch. “What are you doing? Didn’t you hear me calling you?” Her twin brother Jeff said making her blush from embarrassment. “Sorry, no I didn’t hear you. How could I with all of that going on outside?” She replied gesturing towards the outside world behind the window. “Whatever, we have to get going, there was a bioship spotted coming this way.”
He handed her a specially made gun that was made to paralyze instead of killing because up to this point aliens were not the ones that were hostile. Sadly, the war zone that was once called New York was created by humans. Humans were the first ones to attack by bombing and shooting at the flying saucers, at the time they didn’t realize they were only damaging their own land. So Jeff and his nerdy friends created guns that only stunned the victims. They really only wanted to escape, not to hurt anyone. Continue Reading
