Hello all you beautiful people out there. I feel like every time I come on here to blog about my thoughts it's to apologize for being M.I.A. and that's what I'm doing here again.
I was away from my house for two whole weeks visiting family while my husband was on a business trip. While I did read while I was there the internet was horrible so I wasn't able to blog or review while I was there. I also didn't get to read nearly as much as I wanted to but that's oaky ... I guess. Anyway I'm back at my lovely house that I never want to leave ever again and also back to working.
Yesterday I spent all day writing my book since I couldn't do that either while I was away. Today I will probably transcribe some videos for my actual job and then hopefully I can get back to reviewing soon. I think I have decided to kind of slow down on reviewing, not because I'm unhappy but because I really want to finish the first draft of my book this year. It's a little difficult to get into writing mode when I can't stop thinking about the monster of a TBR pile I have and how many I need to review this month or the next month. It becomes too daunting and almost makes me want throw in the towel completely but I don't. Mostly because I know that I will need reviewers once my book is complete and I just hope other reviewers are as understanding as I am. Being honest is important in reviewing but you don't have to be a total dick about it. True Story.
I know I have been MIA lately and I apologize for that but A LOT has happened this month. I don't want to get into details about everything but know I will be back soon. I am currently reading Stone Cold Touch by Jennifer Armentrout and I hope to finish it later today. When I finish it I will post my review and hopefully pick up the next book in the series soon.
I got a job! I'm not sure I really want it but sometimes you have to do things that you really don't want to do, that's life. I am a transcriber for a website, not sure how well I'm doing in it right now but I'm really trying. I have only been working for one day and I all ready feel like I'm screwing everything up. Anyway enough of my sob story here, this blog is really not for that so no more of that.
After the last couple of weeks I have learned a lot. I learned that nothing is permanent -except maybe tattoos. So live life to it's fullest and appreciate EVERYTHING you have because you never know when it could be gone. Continue Reading
This is an apology to any authors that have emailed me and it's taken days, weeks or even a month for me to get back to you. I am so sorry, please know that I am usually not like that but sometimes this blog gets overwhelming. I love getting review requests and finding new books in my emails but it's a lot. I had 25 books to review in June and while that is way more my fault than anyone else's that is a ton of books for little ol' me. Continue Reading
Some of you may know that I entered a short story contest last month. I was incredibly nervous to enter because I have never put any of my writings out there like this. So even though I was very, very nervous I entered and the results are now in. I got third place!!!! I was just proud of myself for entering in the first place but to have placed, is amazing! Thank you to The Writing Piazza for holding the contest and Congratulations to everyone that entered!
For those of you that don't know me personally don't know that I am a huge Gilmore Girls fan. So I have decided to take the plunge and read the books that Rory read. She has a hefty list of 339 books but I'm not giving myself a timeline. I will finish the challenge when I finish it. This way I get to read all the classics that I should have read already anyway. I already got a head start due to school readings and my love for reading in general. I've already read 24 out of the 339 books. I'll add the list below so everyone can join the challenge. Enter if you dare! I'll try to update my blog on how my Rory Gilmore journey is going.
Happy Reading! Continue Reading
Yesterday I sent in my first ever short story to TheWritingPiazza short story showcase. It was incredibly fun writing it, a lot more fun than I expected it to be. It also helped me a lot in writing my book because I've been stuck for a while. I've been mentally bogged down on one scene that I just couldn't seem to get down the way I wanted to.
Taking a step away to write this short story made me figure where I wanted to take the scene. I don't know if I'll win or even if I'll place at all but I don't care. I didn't write it to win, I wrote it because it was fun and it got my creative juices flowing. (Ew I hate thinking about flowing juices. Sorry for any gross images that may have created.)
I hope everyone will join The Writing Piazza's short story contest! Click here to get the rules and any other information.
Good luck and Happy reading!
When I first started this blog I never thought anyone would read it. I never thought authors would ask me to review their books, I never thought I would have months worth of books to review. I never thought I would be interviewing talented authors. I never thought I would meet (online) such amazing people that I have begun to consider my friends. I never thought I would have subscribers and that I would subscribe to other blogs. I never thought I would have people wanting to interview me and nominating me for awards.
The winners have been randomly chosen by random.org.
The winners are April Hearne and Michelle Ellison. My Instagram winner was Imogene Dacanay and has been notified via Instagram. Thank you all that entered.
