This is an interview with the lovely author Olive Balla. For those of you that are unfamiliar with her work she has written the suspense novel An Arm and a Leg . I will be reviewing that book myself in April.
Why don't we start off by you telling us a little about yourself.
Olive: I was born in Roswell, New Mexico about 18 months after the “UFO sighting.” My kids always said that explains a great deal, given the fact that we have no idea what the gestation period for an extra-terrestrial/human might be. I’m a retired educator and part time professional musician living with my husband Victor in the Albuquerque area. But foremost, I’m the mother of three, grandmother of 13, and great-grandmother of 4. Guess that makes me a late bloomer, since this is my debut novel. Continue Reading
Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly fun meme that was created by The Broke and the Bookish. This week was a freebie week so I get to decide what I want to discuss. So without further ado this week I am listing my top ten favorite book men. Even though I am married I can still form crushes on men in books, I do it all the time.
1. Daemon from the Lux series by Jennifer L. Armentrout. Ugh Daemon *Swoon* Oh how I wish you were real! At least you will forever exist in my mind!
2. Shane from the Fall from Grace series by Christine Zolendz. A hot rocker that is also a fallen angel, what is not to love about that?
When the police arrest Anson Ketcher and charge him with murdering his wife, all he keeps saying is: "The ghost killed her."
Nobody believes him. And nobody should, given Anson's violent past and rocky relationship with his dead wife. Everyone wants to see Anson convicted.
Except Eddie McCloskey, paranormal investigator turned expert witness. Only Eddie can prove the man's innocence, but in doing so, can he find the real killer?
The Accused and the Damned is the first of its kind, a paranormal legal thriller and it is the third in The Unearthed series.
Friday is going to be my Book day, it is a new thing I have started. It will be a weekly post (on Friday's) where I share a book that I'm most excited to read, or excited for it to come out.
This is my first Book day Post.
This week my book is:
The romantic sequel to Alienated takes long-distance relationships to a new level as Cara and Aelyx long for each other from opposite ends of the universe...until a threat to both their worlds reunites them.
Welcome to my new blog site! If you have gone to my old blog before then I hope you like the upgrade. If you are new to my little world then I hope you enjoy your visit.
I am a book blogger/ reviewer. I love to read, there isn't a day that goes by that I don't read at least one chapter of whatever book I'm reading. If you have any book recommendations for me don't hesitate to tell me. I love getting recommendations about a good book. I have found the best books through other people telling me about them.
Anyway I hope you will visit my site again, enjoy.
Hi everyone, It's time for another Top Ten Tuesday! It was created by The Broke and the Bookish and this weeks topic is the Top ten books I meant to read but didn't get to last year. *This is in no particular order*
1. The 5th wave by Rick Yancey. I bought the book and it is sitting on my tablet just waiting but I haven't had a chance to read it yet. I will read it this year though!
2. World After by Susan Ee. Another book that I already purchased and I'm just waiting to read it.
3. The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer. I really really want to read this!
Alienated is the first book in the Alienated series by Melissa Landers.
Two years ago, the aliens first made contact. Now Cara Sweeney is going to sharing a bathroom with one of them.
Handpicked to host the first ever L'eihr exchange student, Cara thinks her future is set. Not only does she get a free ride to her dream college, she'll have inside information about the mysterious L'eihrs that every journalist would kill for. Cara's blog following is about to skyrocket
Still, Cara isn't sure what to think when she meets Aelyx. Humans and L'eihrs have nearly identical DNA, but cold, infuriatingly brilliant Aelyx couldn't seem more alien. She's certain about one thing, though: no human boy is that good-looking.
But when Cara's classmates get swept up by anti-L'eihr paranoia, Midtown High School suddenly isn't safe anymore. Threatening notes start to appear in Cara's locker, and a police officer has to escort her and Aelyz to class.
Cara finds support in the last person she expected. She realizes that Aelyx isn't just her only friend; she's fallen hard for him. But Aelyx has been hiding the truth about the purpose of his exchange, and it's potentially deadly consequences. Soon Cara will be in for the fight of her life- not just for herself and the boy she loves, but for the future of her planet.
